I didn't expect this Saturday to turn out the way it did. Started the day with a littl excitement that my dad was being discharged from the hospital and thinking that his condition was rectified. Then with one phone call, things changed. My dad's irregular heartbeat was still there.
We continue to believe that God has His hand upon my dad and that He will accomplish what He wants to through this health issue. Mum and I headed to the hospital to meet dad and grab some lunch along with Joseph, our very close family friend. It took almost 2 hours for the hospital to release my dad. It was quite ridiculous. By the time they finally released him, I had to leave them because I was going to meet a very dear fried of mine from elementary school.
I managed to accompany my family to lunch and hang for a few minutes before I left. It had been 2 years since I've seen my friend, Regina, and I was excited to meet up with her. We've been friends for 21 years! It is quite amazing. I am very grateful for friendships like these because we can pick up where we left off the last time.
We met at a cafe inside the Botanical Gardens. It was great to be able to catch up on life and talk about the future. Time past so quickly and before we knew it, I had to take off for another appointment with Joey and my godson, Leonard. However, before I managed to pick up Joey and Leonard, I had to get some gas for the car I was driving. As such, Regina was kind enough to help me find one. We finally found a gas station and I called Joey at the same time to arrange a meeting place. After we agreed upon the meeting place, Regina again was kind enough to lead me to that place. For the next hour, I got lost after I had failed to keep up with Regina and she had to come find me. It was quite an adventure.
By the time I got Joey and Leonard, they were both starving. We then headed on our way towards a mall where Leonard had picked because his Christmas gift was to come from there. This time, we again missed a turn and were headed to downtown and were stuck in holiday traffic. What a crazy night already. When we finally arrived at the mall, we had to run towards the shops because it was almost time for them to close for the night. We breezed through the shops and thankfully Leonard had his wish list picked out so it didn't take long.
Next we had to find a restaurant at the mall that was opened late and we ended up at Billy Bombers - a burger joint. We had such a great time hanging out. Leonard is a very cute kid, and very smart and eloquent. I am very honored to be asked to be his godfather. I am not a good one partly because I am so far away from him. But at the same time, I'm glad for the opportunities I get to see him when I do get back.
After a long night, we headed home. What a fun night indeed! I am quite wiped now and should get some shut eye since there is church tomorrow. Until next time...peace!
