I Can't Believe It Is The New Year

It is hard to believe that we are into the year already. Christmas and New Year's came and went in a hurry. Not much has changed since returning from Singapore. I still really haven't had the excitment that I usually get for a new year to begin. I have working seemingly non stop since returning to the US. I think my usual phrase is "it's crazy!" I'm not sure how else to describe it. I am definitely worn out mostly from the work load but it has to be done.

Well, I am not really a new year resolution kind of guy but I kinda make life goals in my mind every year. They are all achieveable goals but still I am not doing too well on some of them. It does make me sad when I can't do what I set to do. But I have a year to strive to get better.

Let me do a recap here...there was Christmas. Fun times! Did almost all of the Christmas shopping in one day! I spent Christmas with the Chens and it was a blast. Watching little Janelle open presents and do different things is very entertaining. Christmas eve was great. We had church in the morning and then in the evening I went over to Jay & Sandy's for my traditional celebration with the extended family. It is so much fun and I am blessed to have a "family" here.

Let's see what was next...oh yah, work, work and more work. Then came the weekend of New Year's. One of my friend, Kyle, got married over that weekend. So a bunch of us went over to Vancouver Washington to prepare for the wedding. I was playing my guitar for his wedding. It was a great weekend, a little tiring but still fun. Jarron and I got to travel together and spend time hanging and that was cool.

On our way back we got to stop over and visit the Rasmussens. I love this family. They are great people and have wonderful hearts.

Pastor Kyle (seen here with Jarron and I) is an amazing man of God, a good friend and a great pastor. I owe a lot to this man. He was my music pastor when I first arrived in the US and he gave me my "start" playing music here in Seattle. I have been blessed to have travelled the country with this man (and Peter) playing music and worshipping. I have been able to meet so many amazing and talented musicians because of his influence. I always indebted.

Jarron and I had a great time hanging out with the family. We even got to play ping pong with Jared (youngest son) and Kyle. It was a hoot!

New Year's eve was spent at church. Then New Year's came around and it was one of the most relaxing days I've had in a very long time. All I did was eat, sleep and watch TV. I mostly slept because I was severely lacking in that department.

Now that we are into the new year, I continue to work long hours at the office. The new church plant is going good. It is a lot of fun and challenging at the same time. But God is good and faithful to us.

Well, it is snowing again today and that makes me happy. I love the snow. I love to see white all around. Maybe growing up in a tropical environment makes me this way. I never get tired of snow (I guess I can say that living in these parts of the country). Anyways, I love it when it snows here.

Well, until next time...PEACE
