It has been a while since I've written so it's time to play catch up. It has been a hectic few weeks since my last post and my writing rhythm was interrupted. I am going to attempt to get back on track - we'll see how well I fare.
Although I lead a busy life, I must say that it is very rewarding and invigorating. Most of time revolves around 2 main activities, my day job and the church. It really is the best of two worlds because I get to live what I have gained from church. I am amazed at how much things have changed for me since I started to live my life on the mission. I have been able to have more and more spiritual conversations with people just by trying to be more like Jesus.
Speaking of being more like Jesus, I have to share this story. My mum and I were having a conversation recently, and she related what happened to my dad and his stay in the hospital. What was supposed to be a 2 day stay at the hospital turned into 6 days and to top it off, every procedure that was done was unsuccessful. However, during his extended stay in the hospital, my dad met a guy who was in the next bed over. He was an foreign worker from India and could barely communicate in English. The man had been trying to get his nails cut and he had asked the nurses who didn't do anything to help. Then one day my mum showed up to the hospital with nail clippers from my dad to use. Instead, my dad went over to the guy's bed and cut the nails of his neighbor. And through that little act of kindness, my dad was then able to pray with this man. My dad had exemplified what Jesus would have done. My dad then realized why God had him stay a little while longer in the hospital - not only did he receive a miracle, he was able to bless other people in that hospital room.
I started to think about how self-centered I am and my dad's actions challenged me to be more like Jesus. My dad is my hero and I am grateful for godly parents who I can look up to.
I am going to end this entry with pictures from the past few weeks.

Man Jireh, that story about your dad just about made me cry here in Starbucks. That is very inspiring, thanks for sharing.
My dad is a cool dude! The funny thing is he is never one for seeking the public spotlight but so many of the thing he does needs to get told. I know he is not in it for the glory or even the recognition but the stories are what needs to be told.
He is the man! I can only try to be like him and in turn I can be more like Jesus.
