The Creed

Just got the new CD & DVD - Closer To The Start from Fellowship Church and I am a little more motivated after hearing from them.  They are being challenged the same way my newer start up church is being challenged.

One of the things that stand out to me and I heard it over again over again, is that their goal was to show God's love and tell the stories who have been impacted by that love; in return other people will come to experience that love.  These stories are important and need to be told because when we lift Jesus up, He draws people to Him.

Here's a creed that Fellowship Church has adopted:

We the Church have been compelled by Almighty God, maker of heaven and earth
…to worship God with such passion, excellence, and creativity, that it transforms the Church and changes the world…
…to break through racial, political, social, and religious barriers and bring a clear message of hope and salvation found in Jesus Christ
…to raise up generation after generation to be a reflection of the Radiant One…
…to take the love of Jesus Christ and sweep the streets, dirt roads, and back alleys of this world of social injustice, hatred, and apathy.
…to influence the world with the love and compassion of Jesus in such a way that the Church can’t be ignored.

As a member of the Church, this is ringing loudly in my heart.  I want to be a part of showing God's love.
