Weekend Adventures

I decided this weekend to be a little adventurous when I heard the sun was going to make an appearance for the weekend.  Saturday started somewhat early because of the Northwest University graduation ceremony.  I knew a few people that were graduating and I wanted to support them.

Marcelo and me

Marcelo is a good friend and a part of the LATR community; I was privileged to have him as an intern for a semester.

After the graduation ceremony, I was off on my adventures.  There a few things I wanted to accomplish; first was stop by the guitar shop to have my two guitars looked at.  Thankfully it didn’t cost me too much too get some adjustments made.

One of the main thing I wanted to do in my adventure for the day was to find a park near a beach, near my house, so I could enjoy the beautiful day.  I pulled out my phone and used the GPS to find a map of the area and started driving.  It was pretty cool to drive into communities I had never been to. Following the map I found a spot close to the beach but the area was restricted, so I was a little bummed but I wasn’t about to give up.  I pulled up the map again and decided to try another spot that looked like an accessible park.

I back tracked for a bit and made a few more turns and got into another community.  It is interesting how when you get closer to water, homes, vehicles and landscapes, all give you a hint you are close.  I got excited and after making some wrong turns, I tried going down a street that looked like it had some promise.  I finally found what I was looking for!  A park by the beach!  I was especially excited because it is close to my house and I’ll be sure to come back when the weather is warmer.  It is quite a cool little area, family friendly and scenic.

Being originally from a tropical island country, I was very excited to be close to water like this.

After hanging out for a while, I headed home for the day.  It was a fun and fulfilling day.
