“Can you see Him” is the series we just concluded at church and it has been a good series. God’s timing is impeccable and what Josh spoke about at church today was a timely reminder for what had unfolded and was about to unfold in my weekend.
Here are some lessons learnt:
Who do I turn to first when I am in need? Is Jesus my last call or my first call?
Do I see Jesus in life’s difficult situations or am I too overwhelmed to even recognize His hand?
Life’s setbacks are often God’s setups – I just need to open my eyes to see it.
Can and do I see Jesus in someone else’s life and help direct their attention to the One is able to transform?
I read the scripture passage from which one of the songs I had picked out to sing at church had come from not really knowing how Josh was going to present the message and again God used scripture, lyric and music to pull it altogether; at least for me.
Romans 8:26-28 (NLT)
26 And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. 27 And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will. 28 And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
So, about my weekend…it was quite the weekend. I got to attend my very first NFL Football game on Saturday. It was a wonderful experience! It reminded me a lot of the experiences back in Singapore at major soccer games with 60 thousand people cheering. Here are some highlights:
Hanging out at Joey’s prior to the game.
Jarron at our booth waiting to order
Qwest Field, home to the Seattle Seahawks
Me in front of the main entrance to the stadium
Inside the stadium
The Sea Gals practicing before the game
Jarron and I
Jarron and I at our seats
Team introductions and entrance
Singing of the National Anthem
Setting up our 2nd touchdown of the night – incredible catch by #84
