Day 2 - 8 August

Tuesday came quite quickly for the team. Most of us unintentionally slept in but kudos to the team for picking it up and we managed to get back on schedule. We were very excited to get the day going! We made breakfast this morning in our condos and also prepared a sack lunch so that we didn't have to fight the masses at lunch. This was our longest day of presentations and also the one with the most people presenting.

Up first for the day was Becca, presenting here Human Video Solo. We were one of the first groups to arrive at the room where Becca was to present, so she got a little run through in. Not only was Becca from our team to present for this week, she was the first participant to go this morning. We crowded to the front row, hollering and cheering as her name was called to present. Becca did an awesome job with her human video and just gave it everything she got. She received a Superior rating and we are all proud of her.

After Becca's human video, we had a few hours before our next presentation. We had a quick team meeting and we decided to break into groups to check out the other presentations of the day. Some of the team went to get signed up from practice rooms and some went to take of adjudication issues. I went off to check out the worship teams that were presenting. I was looking forward to some worship time and it was fun to see the different teams lead worship. I then met up with Doug and we proceeded to check out some of the female vocal solo presentations. We wanted to get a handle on the rooms that our soloists were going to be presenting in - scouting if you will; and thus giving our team some feedback on the conditions of the rooms and the "competition."

Finally the time came to meet up with the team for our sack lunches. After a quick lunch break we were headed off to the next presentation from our group and that was Carlee in her female vocal solo. The girl sang her heart out and delivered the song excellently. It was even more special for Carlee because Roger (her dad) got to see her present. He is here with Northwest University as an exhibtor. Carlee also received a Superior rating for her presentation. She really did a fantastic job!

After Carlee's presentation, the team broke off again in different directions. Our next presentation was not going to be till later that afternoon. The presenation was for Small Group Human Video with Sarah and Jenny. We all got together again excited for our last presentation of the day.

Sarah and Jenny are just so good at what they do in this category. I watched the adjudicators as soon as the team started. The presentation was top notch and they definitely captured the adjudicators attention as well as the crowd that was gathered. We haven't gotten their result back so we'll have to check it in the morning.

After our final presentation, we proceeded to the Valley Forge University exhibit where Carlee and Josh had earlier in the day sign up to record a song. Carlee was up first, using her song from her presentation. Josh changed it up a little and decided to sing and play the keyboard for his tune. Both of them recorded so well and it even brought together a crowd to hear them record. I am putting up the song that Carlee recorded. It was great!

The general consensus from the team was to head to a sit down dinner before returning to our condos. We decided to go to TGIFriday's. Dinner was a blast! After dinner we headed back to the condos and a few of us decide to hit the swimming pool for some relaxation and fun. We concluded that after a long day, we wanted to spend the evening together relaxing, watching movies and using the swimming pool.

It was a great way to end the evening. I am thankful for a super first day of presentations. God is good!

P/S - if today's blog doesn't make sense, I apologize. I am so tired and am still adjusting to jet lag and so I was fallin alseep while typing.
