My Date with the Smith Girls
Last Saturday I got to take Talia, Jazlyn and Olivia out for our annual date. We had been talking about this day for a long time and it finally arrived. Truth be known, I think I am more excited about this day than the girls are. I have so much fun hanging with them and communicating with them. I guess we'll keep the "tradition" alive until they are older and no longer think it cool to hang with me.
I came by to pick them about 10:45 am and they were ready to roll. Since we all could not decide on what to do for the longest time, I was a little concern if we couldn't agree on the day itself, so I came prepared with some ideas. But my concerns were undue, they had concluded that we would go to the Seattle Aquarium and Chuck E. Cheese, our standard stop each year, (somewhere along the way). We quickly piled into my car (a Honda Civic Coupe), which Jazlyn had noticed (some years back) that had only 2 doors and no kids door, and headed for town. Acutally, we made 2 quick stops at music stores on the way because I need to some supplies.
After driving around under the viaduct for sometime, we found a parking spot and we made our way to the aquarium. It was a beautiful day and a great day to be out. There were many people out so I was trying to keep all of us together. It was a little tough because the girls are very independant, so they wanted to walk at their own pace. I had to constantly keep an eye out for all 3 of them.

Finally, after walking a while, we arrived at the aquarium and got our tickets. We began our tour of the place. It is such a cool place because you get to see the many different aquatic life forms. There were 2 things that were a must for the girls, one was the glowing seahorses and the "touch" pond where you could physically touch the "exhibits."

We were really hungry by the time we got done with our tour, so it was time to head to Chuck E. Cheese for some pizza and fun times. We headed back to the car and started on our way to Bellevue. After a couple of "are we there yet?" we arrived at Chuck E. Cheese. We checked in, made our lunch order and got our tokens and we were on the way to play time.
The girls just cut loose and I was left at the table waiting for our food. When the food came I went and gathered the flock and we ate while watching Chuck E. perform for some birthday parties. As soon as we got done, the girls were off again to win as much raffle tickets as possible so we could get good prizes.

This was a good year for us. Collectively we managed 354 tickets which meant each of the girls got 118 points for their prizes. We each did our part in collecting. It is the fun part about the whole place (at least for me).
After a few hours and after spending all the tokens we had bought, it was time to leave. We decided we would go to Cold Stone for some ice-cream. We made our way to Woodinville to get some of that ice, cold, creamery. It was awesome!
We hung out for a bit and then the girls decided we would go to park/playground near by. We piled in the car again and headed out. The park was a quite an experience for me. I have the utmost admiration for parents and all they do.
After a while, it was time to go because the heat was getting to everyone. I had a fun time once again with "my girls." Until next year...
