Day 4 - 10 August

Today was probably our most relaxing day. We started the day with some breakfast and a special prayer time for Gary, who was in a severe accident. The team took some time to remember and cry out to God. We then head out to the convention center for our only presentation of the day - the Large Group Drama.

Everyone was excited about the presentation and were loose on our drive over. We got to convention early and so the team took time to rehearse their presentation before we went in. It was soon time to take the stage. We actually had some local support from friends from Bethany Assembly in Everett and Eastridge in Issaquah. We actually had strangers stop us to ask what time our presentation was so they could come see.

"I Am Daniel, Hear Me Roar" is the title of our drama presentation. These students stepped it up and gave an amazing performance, so much so that we received a Superior with Honors rating. That was great news to everyone! It meant that we had a chance to advance to the final round and compete for the Merit award which is the overall winner.

After the presentation, the team again split up into groups. Doug, Tiffany, Marsha and I decided to head to the Prime Outlet Mall by our condo while the rest of the team stayed behind to watch other presentations. The four of us had a great time at the mall. Doug and I didn't get anything but the girls did. It was a fun afternoon.

We headed back to the convention center after a few hours to meet up with the rest of the team. Tiffany had recorded the song she did for her presentation the previous day, but the CD had some technical issues. As such they were allowing us another opportunity to record it again. So we went back and laid down the tracks. It turned out great! I played one wrong note - aarrgghhh! Oh well...

Next, we all piled in the vehicles and headed back to the condos to get changed and head to an early dinner. Tonight we were going to have a good meal and we headed to PF Chang's! We had a blast at dinner, quite a few of team had never been there. After dinner we headed to the convention center again for the night service.

Tonight's service showcased the top 5 Large Human Video Groups and Christian Bands. The presentations was top notch. By at the back of everyone's mind was what was going to happen next. We were going to find out if we advanced to the next level. We very quickly made our way to the scoring area after the service and waited for a few minutes. Finally the moment arrived and we were estatic to find out we indeed had advanced and will present tomorrow morning for a chance at Merit.

To celebrate the night, Mercy Dworzak, a parent that came on the trip with us, treated us to ice-cream cones at McDonald's. We went to this unbelievable McDonald's! Yes, I know, it is strange to find the words "unbelievable" and "McDonald's" together but it was! This place has leather lounge chairs - just a classy place that even plays straight ahead jazz muzak. It was a great way to celebrate! Thanks Mercy! :D

As I am writing this, Doug and I are back at McDonald's again. They have internet access here except we had to pay. It was worth it for us. So here we are...

We had yet another fun and exciting day. We do serve a wonderful God and we have been challenged at the night services to give our lives as living sacrifices and be on the mission. Exciting times!

Time to go now! Peace!
