The Reunion

Recently I had the opportunity to have a reunion with my uncle, Johnny. It had been 10 years since we had seen each other and about 7 years since we spoke. It is quite crazy how time really flies.

Uncle Johnny lives in Springfield, MO, and when I first arrived in the US, I lived with him for about a month. He was the one who taught me to drive for the first time and helped me to get set up here in the US. I am forever grateful for his kindness to me.

I was excited to get to spend some time with my uncle. He has been through quite a bit of adversity in life but he has managed to survive. We had a great time catching up with each other. It was fun to hear all the things that he is involved in and what he is doing with his life. He is a chaplain with the Police Department in Springfield and a chaplain at the local hospital. He now also works with older folks who have dementia. It was facinating to converse with him.

I was glad to have the opportunity to reunite with my uncle. Family is important.
