I'm In Singapore
After flying in a plane for over 18 hours, I am finally in Singapore! What a day! Actually it has been a few days. I left Seattle on Sunday and it is Tuesday morning in tropical Singapore.
Well, our plan worked! My mum was very surprised to see me standing outside her door tonight. She actually screamed, mostly because I startled her. But anyhow, she was delighted to see me and it was a great reunion with the parentals.
Side note...I CAN'T BELIEVE THE SEAHAWKS LOST TO THE CARDINALS! What is wrong with them??? I waited 24 hours to find out we lost! Man! Arrrggghhh!!
Ok, I've let that out. Good.
My flight was mostly good except for the turbulance we experienced ever so often. Watched a few movies, slept a little, ate a few times - the usual. I was actually quite fortunate with the seat arrangements. I was a little concerned when checking in and they told me I couldn't change it. I prefer aisle seating on long flights like these but instead I found out I got window seat. That's not necessarily a good thing because on long flights, people tend to sleep and just settle into their seat, so if one needed to use the "facilities" or just to stretch, one would have to climb over people to obtain freedom. However, I didn't realize I was going to be flying in a Boeing 777, which meant that there are only 2 seats on the window side. I was happy to find that one my first leg of the trip (to Japan) I had the window of the last row. I was able to lean my chair back without bumping anyone and surprisingly I had plenty of leg room.
The same thing happened on the second leg but this time I got the "Economy Plus" seats, which meant even more leg room. Sweet! The only thing was my seat partner was a lady that pretty much slept the whole trip and did not leave her seat. Not only that, she had her tray table down. That was not cool! I managed to get out of my seat once in the 7.5 hour flight and when I got out I stood for almost 2 hours. Partly because I needed to stretch and mostly because she went back to sleep with the tray table down. Oh well...
My cousin Steven came and got me which was cool. And not to forget Aik, who took me bright and early on a Sunday to the airport. It was an all around Singaporean experience. ;)
I think I should probably get some sleep. I have a long day ahead, with some errands to run and then to the hospital for my dad's heart procedure. Peace and Good night...
